Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3500 Scott Street about 9:15 p.m. last Friday (October 22).
The identity of the male victim, 65, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer T. Phillips reported:
A white Dodge Durango was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound near the above address and struck the passenger side of a black BMW 228I sitting at the stop light at the intersection of Holman Street. The Durango had run the red light and continued thorough the intersection. The driver then lost control and struck a crossing signal and a light pole.
The driver of the Durango (victim) died at the scene. The persons in the BMW, who were determined not to be impaired, were not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
