Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2200 Mansfield Street,
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2200 Mansfield Street about 8:25 p.m. on Sunday (April 17).
The identity of the female victim, 63, and her cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Clark and Officer C. Song reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a vehicle in a ditch at the above address and found the victim, unresponsive, in the driver’s seat of a silver Chevrolet Impala. Officers also recovered several open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation and statements from family members indicated the victim had suffered an unknown head injury several hours prior to the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
