Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 12300 Hillcroft Avenue about 1:10 p.m. on July 10.
The suspect, Grayson McGowan, 31, is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Timothy George, 31.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detectives J. Jorsch and L. Gonzales reported:
Mr. George was in a convenience store parking lot at the above address when the suspect began shooting at him. George had an infant in his car and attempted to drive away in his vehicle after suffering a gunshot wound. Shortly after, George lost control of his vehicle and crashed into several vehicles. Paramedics transported George to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The baby was not injured.
On July 11, surveillance photos were released to the public in an attempt to identify the suspect in this case and are attached to this news release.
Further investigation identified the suspect as McGowan and, on Tuesday (July 26), he was arrested by HPD South Gessner Patrol Division officers and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
