Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1098 North Eldridge Parkway about 6:45 a.m. today (Aug. 16).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer M. Tamez reported:
The driver of a Honda Accord was traveling southbound at the above address and had the green light at the intersection of North Dairy Ashford. The deceased male pedestrian stepped into traffic traveling westbound at the intersection and failed to yield the right of way. The Honda struck the pedestrian. Paramedics transported him to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Honda, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
