Investigation into Remains Found at 6605 Calhoun Street

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on skeletal remains found at 6605 Calhoun Street about 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday (November 2).
The identity, gender and cause of death of the individual are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Smith and Detective M. Estep reported:
A work crew was at a vacant lot at the above address and, as one of the workers made his way into the wooded area, he came across skeletal remains scattered all around the area.  The worker immediately contacted police.  HPD patrol officer responded to the scene, confirmed skeletal remains were found and contacted the HPD Homicide Division.
Homicide detectives, as well as investigators form the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, an anthropologist and the Houston Forensic Science Center responded to the scene and a significant amount of remains were recovered in the area.  A walker was also located near the scene, as well as clothing remains and a pair of gray tennis shoes.  There were no immediate signs of foul play nor was any identification found.
