WHAT: Warehouse fire.
WHEN: March 11, 2023 at 7:44 p.m.
WHERE: 2121 Congress St. 77002.
INJURIES: One deceased pet, one pet treated by HFD with oxygen.
PROPERTY SAVED: $1,280,530 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to an upsecified electrical malfunction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke in the courtyard/driveway of a building and forced entry. Crews ventilated the building which had six occupancies and conducted a primary search. One deceased pet was found another dog was found and given oxygen by HFD crews. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters from Stations 15, 8, 19, 7, 17 and 30 responded to this incident.
