Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5800 Little York Road,

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5800 Little York Road that occurred about 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday (May 2).  
The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer K. Hines reported:
The male was operating a teal Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle at a high rate of speed westbound on Maple Leaf Street and was approaching the intersection of Little York Road as a black Mercedes GLA was traveling eastbound on Little York and turned north onto Maple Leaf.  The motorcycle operator (victim) put the bike down, slid into the intersection and struck the right rear side of the Mercedes.
The male was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. The male driver, 21, of the Mercedes, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.  None of the occupants of the Mercedes suffered serious injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
