Houston police are investigating the death of a child found at 227 Oriole Street about 4:30 p.m. on Friday (May 26).
The identity of the deceased child, 4 years old, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Detectives K. Amri and K. Hale reported:
Officers responded to a report of a child found unconscious inside a car at the above address. Responding officers were told multiple children had been playing outside at the location and when an adult went to check on the kids they located a four-year-old boy and a two-year-old female, both inside an unlocked junk car. The children were transported to a nearby hospital where the four-year-old was pronounced deceased. The two-year-old was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.
The investigation is continuing.
