Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a juvenile male that occurred at 2215 Avenida La Quinta Street about 11:30 a.m. on May 6.
The suspect, Kyron Keith Fazande, 22, is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court. A Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office booking photo of Fazande is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 15, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male lying on a sidewalk in the complex. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined a dispute between the male and the unknown suspect(s) had occurred, which led to the shooting.
Further investigation, witness statements and evidence from the scene developed information that identified Fazande as the suspect in this case. Homicide detectives learned Fazande was in custody in the Fort Bend County Jail after being arrested by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force for an unrelated felony out of New Orleans. Fazande was subsequently charged for role in this incident and is currently awaiting transfer to Harris County Jail.
