Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6500 Sayers Street about 7:10 p.m. on May 29.
The suspect, Delvanon Daggs, 19, is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. A booking photo of Daggs is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Lawrence Brazier, 22.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Herrera and C. Vaughn reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address but, at that time, did not find a victim at the location. Shortly after, officers were advised the victim, later identified as Mr. Brazier, had suffered a gunshot wound and was transported by private vehicle to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital. Brazier was then transported by paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased on May 31.
Further investigation identified Daggs as the suspect in this case and a murder charge was filed against him. Last Friday (July 21), Daggs was arrested by the HPD Northeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team on an unrelated charge. He was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
