Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 12200 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 3:20 a.m. today (August 3)
The identity of the deceased male, believed to be 30, is pending notification to family member by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer S. Bouarar reported:
A silver Buick LaCrosse was traveling on the Gulf Freeway service road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole in front of a shopping center at the above address. The impact caused the Lacrosse to wrap around the pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
