Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of a man at 8219 Garden Parks Drive about 4:10 p.m. on September 28.
The suspect, Cory Madison Kellett, 29, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 208th State District Court. A July 2022 booking photo of Kellett, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The victim, 23, suffered multiple stab wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Lazo and Detective M. Providence reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing at the above address and found the victim had been transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined the victim got into a verbal altercation with a male suspect in the driveway of the residence at the above address. The suspect then produced a knife and stabbed the victim.
The suspect, described at that time as a white male, 25 to 30 years of age, was last seen fleeing the scene in a white, four-door Alfa Romeo sedan with paper license plates.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Kellett and he was subsequently charged. Kellett remains at-large and his whereabouts are unknown.
