Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man found at 2836 Fulton Street about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday (April 23).
The suspect, Rafel Arredondo, 32, is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. A booking photo of Arredondo is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Meek, M. Cass and Detectives S. Overstreet and J. Brown reported:
Officers were dispatched to a person down call outside a business at the above address and learned an employee found the victim unresponsive in the rear parking lot. Paramedics were called and pronounced the man deceased. He had suffered multiple stab wounds.
At that time, there were no known witnesses or motive in the incident and evidence gathered thus far only indicated an unknown male walked away from the parking lot minutes before the victim was found.
Further investigation identified Arredondo as the suspect in this case and a short time later, he was arrested on an unrelated charge. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Arredondo was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
