Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 16303 Imperial Valley Drive about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday (July 13).
The identity of the victim, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Detective D. Stark reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim unresponsive and with at least one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim and his family had a prior disagreement with neighbors several days ago. On the day of this incident (July 13) the two families got into a verbal and physical altercation that resulted in shots being fired. The victim was fatally struck.
Several persons were detained and questioned and released.
No charges have been filed as the investigation is continuing.
