WHAT: Detached Residential Garage Fire.
WHEN: July 8, 2024, at 12:31 p.m.
WHERE: 1000 block of Laurel Valley Dr. 77062.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $15,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from a detached residential garage. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search of the home. Two dogs were found and removed. Crews ventilated the home and requested CenterPoint to secure the meter. The fire was extinguished, and firefighters completed salvage and overhaul. Hot exhaust gases from a generator ignited the wood siding of the garage, and the fire spread up the interior garage wall. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 71, 72, 93 and 94.
