Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 2313 Kirk Street about 1:55 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 26).
The suspect, Frederick York, 19, is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. A booking photo of York is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Kenneth Thomas, 19.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Davidson and A. Finlay reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call inside a residence at the above address and found the victim, later identified as Mr. Thomas, with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
At that time, witnesses informed officers that two males entered the house, stole two firearms and shot the victim before fleeing. The males were described only as black males between 17 and 22 years old.
Further investigation identified York as a suspect in this case and, on Wednesday (August 28) he was arrested without incident and subsequently charged.
