Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on remains found at 2600 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 10 a.m. on Saturday (August 31).
The identity, gender and cause of death of the deceased are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to Little White Oak Bayou at the above address after landscape workers found possible human remains in the woods near the bayou. The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition.
No foul play is suspected at this time and the investigation is pending the cause of death, as determined by an autopsy.
