Houston police have learned a male critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 201 Chartres Street about 11 p.m. on August 30 has died.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer S. Bouarar reported:
A white Ford Mustang was traveling northbound near the above address and struck a pedestrian. The Mustang fled the scene and did not stop to render assistance.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on Tuesday (September 10).
HPD Gang Division Crime Reduction Unit officers in the area responded to the scene and later located the unoccupied vehicle at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Burnett Street. The suspect has not been located at this time.
