UPDATE: Persons of Interest Sought in August Fatal Shooting at 9551 North Wayside Drive

Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two persons of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 9551 North Wayside Drive about 9:10 p.m. on August 28.
The persons of interest are described as two black males, one wearing a light-colored hoodie and the other wearing a black hoodie.  Surveillance photos of the persons of interest, who are not charged at this time, are attached to this news release.
The victim has been identified as Michael Smith, 19.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and J. Meister-Wile reported:
HPD patrol officers were flagged down regarding a shooting at a park at the above address and found an unresponsive man on the ground.  He had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
A witness told officers she was walking through the park with the victim when they were confronted by an unknown male suspect.  The suspect grabbed the victim, put a gun to him and said something.  The suspect then shot the victim and fled on foot northbound toward Hamlet Street.  The witness was uninjured.
At that time, the suspect was described only as a black male wearing a black hoodie, gray pants and a ski mask.
Further investigation identified two persons of interest, who are pictured below.
