Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 14504 Briar Forest Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and the apparent suicide of a man at 14504 Briar Forest Drive about 7:50 p.m. on Monday (September 16).
The identities of the female victim, 28, and the male suspect, 33, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective D. Davis reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address after a caller stated she was inside her apartment when the upstairs neighbor fired a gunshot down into her apartment.  Officers attempted to make contact with the upstairs neighbor form where the shot was fired, however, no one answered the door.
Officers found the door unlocked, entered the apartment and found an unresponsive woman with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the living room floor.  Officers checked the apartment and found a male in the bedroom with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man and woman deceased.  The incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
According to a witness, the female victim and her boyfriend (suspect) had recently moved into the apartment.
