Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12200 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 4:25 p.m. on Sunday (September 22).
The identity of the deceased male, 31, is pending verificaiton by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer J. Chen reported:
The male was operating an orange Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling westbound at the above address when he missed the entrance to the Katy Toll Road, but drove between white divider poles to the access the tollway. The motorcyclist then struck a black Hyundai Elantra in the tollway lanes and lost control. The impact caused the motorcyclist to go back into the main lanes of the freeway, where he was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The drivers of the Hyundai and Chevrolet remained at the scene and were determined not to be impaired. Both drivers were questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
