Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found after a vehicle fire was extinguished at 7930 Blankenship Drive about 8:20 a.m. today (October 17).
The identity of the man, believed to be in his 50s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a request from Houston Fire Department personnel for assistance regarding a deceased person in a business parking lot at the above address. Officers were told HFD personnel located an unresponsive man in the driver’s side of a burning vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.
At this time, there are no apparent signs of foul play. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the HFD Arson Division.
