Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7526 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday (October 23).
The identity of the victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives N. Henderson and L. Patterson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive man in the pool area. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
Further investigation and evidence from the scene indicated the victim was with a friend standing near the parking lot and the fenced in pool. A unknown male suspect walked through the front parking lot of the complex and fired shots in the direction of the victim, who was struck by the gunfire. The suspect then fled the scene northbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The suspect is described only as a black male, 16 to 22 years of age and wearing a dark-colored hoodie with white shorts.
