Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6500 East Mount Houston Road about 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday (December 17).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer L. Nguyen reported:
The male pedestrian was struck by a white Kenwood tractor-trailer truck traveling eastbound near the above address. The driver initially left the scene and parked the truck at a nearby truck yard, but later returned to the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
At this time, it has not been determined if the male was standing in the roadway or on the side of the street.
The driver, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released pending further investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
