Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 4500 Neal Street about 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 31).
The deceased male is identified as Joel Fraustro, 48.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Riley reported:
Officers responded to a report of a crash at the above address and learned the driver of a silver Lexus LS-430 was traveling north on Neal Street at a high rate of speed when the driver ran a stop sign. The Lexus struck a blue Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Glenview Drive.
The crash caused the Silverado to spin and come to a rest in the front yard of a residence at 8353 Glenview Drive. The Lexus spun around, struck the residence and came to a rest on the east side of the house. The passenger of the Lexus, later identified as Mr. Fraustro, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Silverado was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect driver, 37, of the Lexus fled on foot to a residence at 8245 Glenview. He was later arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges.
The investigation into the fatal crash is on-going.
