Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1362 North State Highway 6

Houston police have learned an infant critically injured in a crash at 1362 North State Highway 6 about 2:15 p.m. on January 12 has died.
The identity of the female infant, five months old, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer J. Cruz reported:
The driver of a white Toyota Corolla traveling northbound near the above address failed to control speed and the vehicle struck the rear of a black Hyundai Tuscon, also traveling northbound on North State Highway 6.  A white Lexus RX450H also failed to control speed and then struck the Toyota from behind.
The five-month-old female and two additional juvenile passengers, 8 year old male and 6 year old female,  were all passengers in the Toyota.  All three children and the female driver were transported to an area hospital.  Doctors pronounced the five-month-old deceased last Friday (January 24).  The drivers of the Hyundai and the Lexus were transported to area hospitals in stable conditions.
The investigation is continuing.
