Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7100 North Sam Houston Parkway East service road about 11:50 p.m. on Saturday (November 6).
The identity of the female victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer F. Flynn reported:
The victim was driving a silver Lincoln MKX eastbound on the North Sam Houston Parkway near the above address and exiting toward Mesa Road. The Lincoln failed to stay in a single lane and struck the barrier on the exit ramp, which caused the vehicle to flip multiple times. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and she and her vehicle were struck by a red Toyota Avalon, also exiting the Sam Houston Parkway. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
A male, 29, exited the Lincoln and claimed to be the passenger. He remained at the scene and was questioned and released. The Toyota’s female driver, 47, remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
