Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 6106 Werner Street about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday (July 30).
The identity of the victim, 65, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Kauffman, C. Bowling, D. Hobson and R. Rivera reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a welfare check call at the above address and found the victim inside a residence. It appeared the woman had been deceased for several days and had suffered a gunshot wound.
At this time, there is no known suspect or motive.
