Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of an armed suspect by Hitchcock Police Department officers at 8406 Mosley Road about 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday (March 7).
The identity of the deceased male, 54, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The Hitchcock Police Department officers who discharged their duty weapons were not injured in the incident.
HPD Special Investigations Unit Sergeant S. Dau and Detectives M. Childs, D. Hammons, H. le and C. King reported:
Hitchcock police officers attempted to serve a felony warrant on a suspect in a parking lot at the above location. As the officers approached the suspect, he pointed a pistol at them. Fearing for their safety, the Hitchcock officers discharged their duty weapons, striking the suspect.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the suspect to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
As is customary in officer-involved shooting incidents that occur in the Houston city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Special Investigations Unit and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
