Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 2100 Brittmoore Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 2100 Brittmoore Road about 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday (May 10).
The suspect, Jose Ricardo Carcamo, 57, is charged with failure to stop and render aid – causing death in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Carcamo is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased male victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer T. Smith reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was in the roadway and possibly crossing the street at the above address when he was struck by a red Nissan Frontier.  The driver failed to stop and render aid and left the scene.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
Officers in the area observed the suspect driver and wanted vehicle (with heavy front end damage) parked at a business in the 5500 block of Brittmoore Road.  The suspect, identified as Carcamo, was questioned, taken into custody and subsequently charged in the crash.
