Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5811 Santa Cecilia Lane about 4:15 a.m. last Friday (May 26).
The suspect, Philip Arning, 24, is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. A booking photo of Arning is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detective R. Rivera and M. Perez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and found the victim unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Witnesses informed investigators that Arning shot the victim following a party at the residence. Arning remained at the scene. He was questioned, arrested and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
