The fatal shooting of a male at 4310 Capitol Street about 9 p.m. on Tuesday (May 30) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The male shooter was not injured.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Davis and L. Lunceford reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased
According to a witness, the male and he were meeting regarding the sale of shoes. At some point, they got into an argument which led to the deceased male producing a pistol. A relative of the witness heard the argument and came outside to see the male displaying a firearm. The relative then shot the male. The shooter and the witness attempted to provide medical assistance until paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, this case will be presented to a grand jury.
