Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1911 Westmead Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1911 Westmead Drive about 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday (July 25).
The identity of the victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective K. Stringer reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle call at an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Charger.  He had suffered a gunshot wound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was at the complex to meet with another male.
The suspect is described only as an unknown black male.
