Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male found at 5625 Antoine Drive about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday (August 26). The identity of the male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Stephens and M. Castillo reported: HPD patrol officers responded to an assault in-progress call in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address. Initial reports were a pregnant female was being assaulted and dragged through the complex by a male suspect. Officers arrived on scene, heard multiple gunshots and then detained two males running through the courtyard. An additional responding officer detained a third male (with a gun in his possession) in the complex parking lot. Moments later, officers located an unresponsive male in the courtyard. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. The female victim provided a description of the male who assaulted her, and he matched the description of the deceased male. The female was transported by paramedics to an area hospital as a precaution. No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
