Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 5600 block of North State Highway 288 about 9:35 p.m. on Monday (April 15).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer L. Fenoglio reported:
An unidentified male was riding his bicycle across the northbound lanes of Highway 288 when he was almost struck by an 18-wheeler and fell off his bike. The male managed to stand up and was standing in the main lanes of the freeway next to his bike when he was struck by a red Acura MDX, a black Dodge Charger and a black Chevrolet Impala. All three vehicles remained at the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The female driver, 45, of the Acura and the male driver, 28, of the Chevrolet were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries. The female driver, 29, of the Dodge was not injured. The drivers did not showed no signs of impairment.
The investigation is continuing.
