Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 12806 Buffalo Speedway about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday (July 13).
The identity of the victim, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Lazo and Detective M. Providence reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim unresponsive and lying on the ground. He had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined the victim and his family members got into an altercation with at least one other individual over a parking space. Witness stated an unknown vehicle arrived and a suspect, described only as a black male – 25 to 30 years of age – exited the vehicle and shot the victim multiple times. The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle.
