Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6000 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 8:05 p.m. on Sunday (November 10).
The identity of the deceased male, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer C. Moralez reported:
The male was running from the service road lanes across the exit lane of the freeway when he was struck by a red Hyundai Elantra exiting the freeway. The impact caused the male to be pushed back into the service road lanes, where he was struck by a white vehicle of unknown make or model.
The driver of the white vehicle did not stop to render assistance and fled the scene. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedic responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
