The teenage son of a Houston Police Department officer was shot and killed Monday night in Kingwood, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The victim, 14, was shot multiple times and died from his injuries.
MCSO reported that a woman was walking on North Kings Mill Lane at about 8:20 p.m. when she heard several gunshots before witnessing two Black males running from the area. The witness found the boy on the sidewalk.
The name of the teen has not been released.
The Kings Mill subdivision is located within the New Caney ISD zone, and Scott Powers, the school district’s executive director of public relations, confirmed the teen was a student in one of the district’s schools.
“We are deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends at this time,” Powers said in a statement.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
