Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7000 Waxahachie Street

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7000 Waxahachie Street about 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday (June 7).
The identities of the deceased male, 46, and female, 38, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant  S. Jewell and Officer K. Stanley reported:
The male and female victims, along with a juvenile male passenger, 12, were traveling in a black Nissan Altima northbound on Boyles Street near the above address.  A white Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on Waxahachie Street when its driver failed to stay in a single lane and struck a wooden light pole on the south side of the street, causing the pole to break.
The Honda continued eastbound, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Boyles Street and struck the Nissan as it entered the intersection.  The Nissan then struck a metal fence in front of a residence.  The Honda continued traveling and struck another light pole, a stop sign and then spun around.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male and female in the Nissan deceased.  The juvenile passenger of the Nissan was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The Honda’s male driver, 27, who was possibly impaired, was transported by HFD paramedics to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  No charges have been filed against him at this time, as the investigation is pending results of a blood draw.
