Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1800 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 11:20 p.m. on Sunday (June 30).
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer L. Fenoglio reported:
The male was driving a black Chevrolet Cruze northbound on the freeway at the above address when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the right side retaining wall. The impact caused the vehicle to cross over all the northbound lanes. It was then struck by a wrecker truck traveling northbound.
Paramedics transported the driver of the Chevrolet to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The male driver, 30, of the wrecker truck was not seriously injured and was treated at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
