2-Alarm House Fire in Unincorporated Area

WHAT: 2-alarm house fire.

WHEN: October 1, 2024, at 2:16 a.m.

WHERE: 13900 block of Long Meadow Dr. 77047.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.

DAMAGE: $400,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators have classified the cause as accidental.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire involving a vehicle, the garage and attic area of a home.  They made an attack on the fire, during which a firefighter became disoriented. A second alarm was requested, and crews removed the firefighter safely outside. A primary search was completed, and the fire was extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 82 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 16, 27, 23, 21, 46, 59, 35, 47, 55, 61, 24, 18, 37, 30, 33, Rescue 42 and Rehab 8.
