Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8447 Sterlingshire Street about 2 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 2).
The suspect, Quinton Waldo Lee, 23, is charged with murder in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of Lee is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and M. Cass reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
Further investigation determined the victim got into an argument with his roommate, Lee, who is also his cousin. The argument escalated when Lee pulled a gun and shot the victim multiple times.
Lee was taken into custody by officers a few blocks from the scene. He was subsequently charged and transported to jail.
