House Fire in The Lazybrook / Timbergrove Area

WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: November 29, 2024, at 4:36 p.m.
WHERE: 6600 block of Cindy Ln. 77008.
INJURIES: Two firefighters suffered from minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: $185,400 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $340,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the side of a 1-story house and made an offensive attack with the wind fueling the fire. A primary search was completed with no one found. Crews controlled and extinguished the fire in the attic and fire to a portable building in the back yard. The roof was ventilated, and CenterPoint was requested. Firefighters rotated until the fire was controlled. One firefighter received a small burn, and a second firefighter injured their knee. Both firefighters were evaluated and transported to the hospital. 53 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 11, 31, 15, 6, 38, 62, 30 and Heavy Rescue 11.
