Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 3429 St. Benedict Street about 2:55 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 18).
The suspect, Zacchaeus Parker, 26, is charged with murder in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of Parker is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Lenisa Washington, 49.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective J. Meister reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence. Paramedics pronounced Ms. Washington deceased at the scene.
Family members told officers that Parker, the victim’s son, shot her. Officers located him nearby and detained him. Parker was found to be in possession of a firearm.
After interviewing witnesses and the suspect, detectives consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Parker was charged for his role in this incident.
