Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 3800 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 10:35 a.m. today (October 29).
The victim, 38, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Carroll and J. De La Torre reported:
The victim was traveling southbound on the North Freeway near Shenandoah, Texas, when he saw a vehicle driving erratically as it traveled toward Houston.  The victim then saw the vehicle shortly after it had been involved in a minor traffic crash in Houston.  He stopped to provide assistance and then noticed the unknown suspect (driver) rummaging through his own vehicle’s interior.  The victim decided to leave the scene and noticed he was being followed by the suspect driver.
The suspect pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and fired a weapon at him.  The victim was struck in the left hip and managed to safely pull over to call 9-1-1.  The suspect fled the scene.  The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
The suspect is described only as a black male in his 20s.
