Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 3403 Simsbrook Drive about 8:40 p.m. on December 11.
A photo of the male person of interest, who is not charged, is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Althaus and D. Davis reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in a parking lot at the above address and found an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. A second male, 18, was found with a gunshot wound and transported by paramedics to an area hospital in stable condition.
Further investigation determined an argument occurred between a witness (friend of the victims) and a suspect. During the argument, the suspect shot the two victims and drove away in a victims’ vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered nearby. The suspect had fled prior to officers arriving.
At this time, there is no known suspect description.
Detectives would like to speak with the person of interest, as he may have information in this incident.
