Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 4718 Lockwood Drive about 5:45 p.m. on December 13.
The male suspects, both 16, are in custody at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center after being referred to authorities on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The names and booking photos of juvenile suspects are not releasable.
They are accused in the killing of Faridah Davis, 45.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective L. Patterson reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a convenience store at the above address and found a female unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. She had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the woman, later identified as Ms. Davis, to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Detectives learned Davis drove to the location with her husband as a passenger. The husband went into the store, where an employee asked him to leave. When he left the store and got back into the vehicle, an unknown male fired shots into the vehicle as it was beginning to leave the parking lot. The vehicle rolled a short distance and came to a stop. The husband exited the vehicle and ran. At that time, a second male fired shots at the husband. Both shooters then fled the scene on foot. The husband was not injured. Two other family members in the back seat of the vehicle were not injured.
On December 14, detectives released surveillance photos of the two unknown suspects wanted in this case. Further investigation led to the identities of the two males. One of them was arrested on December 16 and the other on December 18.
