Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2500 State Highway 6

Houston police have learned that a female critically injured in a crash at 2500 South State Highway 6 about 10:05 a.m. on December 30 has died.
The identity of the deceased female, 74, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer A. Thomas reported:
The female was walking eastbound and crossing the street near the above address – not in a crosswalk – and was struck by a white Kia Sorento traveling northbound.  The male driver, 32, of the Kia stopped and remained at the scene. He was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the female to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where doctors pronounced her deceased last Friday (January 3).
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
