House Fire in The Braeburn Area

WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: March 21, 2023 at 10:50 p.m.
WHERE: 6100 block of Carew St. 77074.
INJURIES: No reported injuries. One pet rescued and treated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: $203,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $150,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators determined the fire was caused by a juvenile playing with a lighter.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire coming from a window of a house and attic. They made an offensive attack on the fire and a primary search was completed. A dog was rescued and provided oxygen with a pet mask. The crews encountered a heavy fire in the attic. Once the fire was controlled and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters from Stations 60, 82, 2, 28, 68, 10, 51 and 24 responded to this incident.
