Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 2501 Westerland Drive about 2:30 p.m. on April 13.
The suspect, Clifton John Allen, 66, is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. Allen’s booking photo is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Carol Webber, 74.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective K. Amri reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a deceased person at an apartment complex at the above address and found Ms. Webber unresponsive on the floor of her apartment. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined she suffered a gunshot wound.
Further investigation identified Allen as a suspect in this incident. He and Ms. Webber were previously involved in a dating relationship.
Officers arrested Allen on Friday (April 26) and he was subsequently charged.
